Acrylic on canvas

121 x 91cm

Framed in Tasmanian Oak

In Botticelli’s original, Venus demurely floats to shore on a clam, modestly hiding her bits and looking off into the distance; inactive in her own birth, meek and submissive.

This painting is a re imagining of Botticelli’s...if Venus was a cowgirl emerging from the depths of the ocean riding a prawn. She’s active and empowered and gazes directly down at us; she’s born to ride.
